Shirley Davis has served as the lower elementary special education teacher at GWCA for the past three years. She has been is the field of education for three decades working in private, public, and charter schools.
Ms. Davis has worked in the capacity as an assistant school leader and dean of students.
Teaching is her second career; she worked four years as a registered dietitian in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. It was when her oldest child was not being academically challenged enough in school and the unwillingness of the school system to made accommodations for her daughter, lead Ms Davis to special education.
Ms. Davis alma mater’s are the University of Detroit and Marygrove College
Ms. Davis strives to create a caring, safe, and engaging learning environment, where she encourages students to believe in themselves and to do their personal best.
